Dorman Defeats TL Hanna 5-2 to Advance to State ChampionshipThe Dorman Cavaliers won game two against T.L Hanna by a score of 5-2 to claim the 5A upper state baseball title. Starting pitcher Tanner McCallister was strong on the mound for Dorman, pitching the entire game and striking out 11 batters in the win. The Cavaliers struck first as Jack Hennessy singled and scored on Russell Parry’s fielder’s choice. Then in the second inning, Jack Renwick got on base by a fielder’s choice, and moved to second on Hennessy’s single. Hunter Smith followed by hitting a double down the left-field line, scoring both Renwick and Hennessy. The Yellow Jackets got back into the game in the fifth inning, as they hit a home run deep over the left field fence, cutting Dorman’s lead to 3-2. The Cavaliers then added two more crucial runs on the board to boost their lead, and ended up holding the Yellow Jackets to only two runs to secure the win. The Cavaliers will visit River Bluff on Saturday for game one of the state championship.
