Dorman High School is excited to announce Laura Maurer as the new Head Coach of Girls Golf. Maurer has been an assistant coach in the program for the previous two seasons and played a major role in the Cavaliers 2022 State Championship.
Athletic Director Jon Stoehr says, “Coach Maurer has an extensive background in the game of golf and has a proven ability to connect with our student-athletes. Her passion for helping young women, District Six, and the game of golf is clearly evident. We cannot wait to see where her leadership takes the program.”
Maurer has been involved with First Tee-Upstate South Carolina since 2018. During that time she has worked with beginner through advanced players to deliver life skills through the game of golf. Prior to her time at Dorman, Maurer served as an Assistant Coach with Mauldin High School and as a Co-Head Coach with Mitchell Road Christian Academy. Additionally, Maurer played golf collegiately at Columbia College in Columbia, SC. During her time there, she served as a co-captain for two seasons.

Dorman High School is excited to announce Marabeth Durden as the new Head Coach for Girls Lacrosse. Coach Durden is joining us from Coker University where she has been the Head Coach since 2019.
Athletic Director Jon Stoehr says, “Coach Durden brings immense coaching and playing experience to the Dorman Girls Lacrosse program. She has a profound knowledge of the game and an impressive ability to connect and lead young women. Her vision for the program perfectly aligned with the mission of District Six and we’re ecstatic about what lies ahead.”
While at Coker, Durden prioritized excellence both on and off the field. Her team earned a spot as a 2023 Division II NCAA Award of Excellence Finalist and was named a 2022 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Squad. Prior to coaching, Durden played collegiately at Coker, earning the University’s Female Athlete of the Year Award back-to-back years. Durden also has experience coaching at the high school level and in 2019, she was named the East Metro Conference Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year (Orlando, Florida).
